Hi my name is Luke Marsanskis and I run for the Maine Distance Project.
I have been running for 16 years. After having some success at Greely High School, I decided a couple of months before college that I wanted to pursue collegiate running and that fall I walked on to the University of Maine cross country team.
Coming out of college I knew there were options available for fully supporting runners throughout the United States, but I also wanted to stay in Maine… I’m super excited to take advantage of this opportunity that I never thought would be available in this state. I’ve lived in Maine my entire life and have always looked up to the great Maine runners of each generation.
I use running as a way to explore new places, connect with familiar places, and reduce stress. My main hobbies outside of running are music and hiking.
I hope to make a splash in the road racing scene and I’m excited to race distances farther than I have ever raced before. I hope to qualify for the Olympic Trials in the marathon and eventually a top 10 finish at a US Marathon Champs.
